Aloe Sinkatana

Susan Kent, March 2013

This turns out to be a slightly tender, but useful landscape Aloe. The best use is mass plantings or large containers, and sheltered from the worst of both the summer and the winter Southern Nevada weather. It has a capitate red to orange inflorescence, small but similar to that of Aloe Rooikappie (plant of the month in January 2013). (Rooikappie is a hybrid of Sinkatana.) The plant does clump. Leaves are speckled yellow on green. (Sudan)
