We'll be talking about "seasonally pertinent" plants and MAINTENANCE - perhaps both interior and landscape if time allows. Bring snacks if convenient. Bring a guest or two to help share information about our interests!

December Meeting is a Holiday Pot Luck Dinner!

It's been a tradition for years!  This year Rick Holmes has graciously invited members of CSSSN to his home for the holiday gathering. We'll start convening at noon on December 15.  To help with the planning, please RSVP to Rick by Tuesday, Dec 11, with the number of people who will be coming and what you would like to bring for the potluck.  Rick's email is Rickholmes@ACM.org or phone 702-458-4933.  Some of us who live on the West side of the valley will be meeting at the Springs Preserve main parking lot (uncovered area) about 11:15 to carpool to Rick's.  Hope we see you on the 15th.  

This is strictly a social gathering.  There will not be a business meeting this month.  I would bet, however, that there may be a "pointed" conversation about  cactus here and there.

November 2012 Meeting

The November  2012 meeting of the Cactus and Succulent Society of Southern Nevada will be Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 2PM in the Partership room on the ground floor of the Desert Living Center at the Springs Preserve.  On the aerial view below, we meet on the ground floor of the right (east) most building.

The meeting will be to vote for officers for 2013.  Office of president and treasurer are open.  We'll also be talking plants.  Bring snacks if convenient.

$20 individual; $30 couple; no dues for children.  Let's encourage our youth to enjoy and respect all elements of the world ... to develop hobbies that let them explore the plants, animals, insects, .... the deserts of the world.  Maybe they'll get stuck on cactus.

October 2012 Meeting

The October  2012 meeting of the Cactus and Succulent Society of Southern Nevada will be Sunday, October, 14 2012 at 2PM in the Partership room on the ground floor of the Desert Living Center at the Springs Preserve.  On the aerial view below, we meet on the ground floor of the right (east) most building.

Victor Lindsey, of Cactus by Lindsey and a CSSSN member, will give a brief presentation on how to prepare your specimen plants for showing.  Victor has long experience showing plants in and around the large Southern California cactus and succulent societies.  This presentation is in preparation for the Moon-Sun Cactus Show and sale scheduled for October 20, 21 2012.  We'll be co-hosting the show. So get some pointers on showing plants from Victor and bring a nice plant or two to the show the following weekend.
